Biography
Artistic since childhood and a professional violinist for over twenty years, Karen Stokke has always enjoyed exploring new forms of creative expression, both for work and pleasure. Mixed media is her latest endeavor (and source of delight).
Artist's Statement
I began making handmade cards and gifts for family in 2020, experimenting with decoupage that fall after ordering some craft pumpkins to decorate. Much of what I create is shaped “in the moment” as I immerse myself in the creative process and see where it leads, learning as I go. Often this process involves the destruction and transformation of the materials I work with, in which there is something both cathartic and regenerative.
