My name is Eric McDonald, I am 17 and I am obsessed with nature, especially birds. I look for them locally around my home at places like the Mystic Lakes, the Brooks Estate and the Middlesex Fells. Almost two years ago, I borrowed a digital camera which I was instructed to return in a week. I ended up carrying it around for six months until a summer vacation to Utah, when I dropped it in the Virgin River while trying to take pictures of a hummingbird sitting on a nest. I bought my first camera about a year ago, and I have recently upgraded to a digital SLR. My passion for birds and bird photography is growing all the time. Whenever I take a picture, my goal is to capture what I felt when I looked at the subject. I guess that’s what all photographers do, but I don’t know how many achieve it. I know that I don’t right now, but someday I will.
