Louise Musto-Choate

I have been a resident of Medford since 1965.  I began focusing on designing jewelry just 5 years ago.  Most pieces are one-of-a-kind as well as, custom made pieces by special order.  Designed from semi-precious and natural stones, my designs incorporate amethyst, hematite, Swarovski crystals, onyx, rose quartz and sterling silver to create my own unique designs.  I’ve recently starting designing with all types of natural stones, like ocean jasper, leopard and alligator jasper, and aventurine.

My participation in the West Medford Open Studios tour, the Medford Arts Festival in 2005 and the Doc Kountze Arts Festival has been a rewarding experience.   Meeting with talented area artists and being able to display and sell our art locally, has opened up a whole new dialogue in the City of Medford to support the arts.  I’m proud to be a part of this endeavor.

Since October is Breast Care Awareness month, last year I designed a bracelet, made from rose quartz and various other stones.  Rose quartz brings a sense of self-love to those who wear it.   A percentage of the proceeds were donated to support breast care awareness and ongoing research.  I plan to offer the bracelets for sale during this year’s 8th Annual WMOS tour.  I’ve also added breast care awareness earrings to my collection.
