![]() ![]() ![]() Maureen Sonnie and Two Paws Studio An artist for over fifteen years, Maureen is the founder and artist in residence at Two Paws Studio, where she creates hand-built and wheelthrown functional ware and decorative work in mid-fire stoneware and low-fire earthenware clays. She maintains a separate space where she creates functional and decorative stained glass that incorporates brass came, tubing and wiring. In addition to showing her work, Maureen has been involved in mentoring and publicizing the work of other artists in her community: She is co-founder of West Medford Open Studios, an annual two-day spring exhibit, she wrote and produced a monthly Arts Page and Calendar section for the Medford Transcript for two years and has been an invited speaker at Lesley University in Cambridge and to local artists’ groups, where she has shared her research into the history of American women’s contributions to pottery, sculpture, clay work, glazing, methods of decoration and china painting. Maureen has exhibited regionally and her work is included in private collections throughout the continental United States and United Kingdom.
