Tamara Major
Bio
I am trained as both a fine artist and graphic designer. I received
a BA in art from Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota, and an MFA
in Graphic Design from Mass College of Art. Both disciplines fuel
my creativity. Over the years, I have experimented in ceramics,
drawing, painting, collage and printmaking. I am currently producing
lighthearted, bright watercolors/colored ink paintings and prints. The
medium may change, but the feeling is the same - connecting in a
visual way with the environment, and then sharing that experience with
others.
For the past 15 years I have worked in the Boston area as a Graphic
Designer. My work has been used in such venues as CD, book, and
magazine covers, and other projects for many different, eclectic
clients.
I have exhibited my non-commercial work in galleries, cafes
and shows in Boston, Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington, Medford, and
other towns in Massachusetts. I currently sell my cards and prints
at local galleries/craft shops such as Blue Cloud gallery in Somerville
and 13Forest Gallery in East Arlington.
