Maureen Sonnie and Two Paws Studio

Bio
Maureen works in her own studio, creating work in stoneware and earthenware clays. In a separate work area, she creates functional and decorative stained glass that incorporates brass came, tubing and wiring. Her work is retailed locally at Blue Cloud Gallery in Somerville and 13 Forest Street Gallery, which is moving to its new location in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Maureen has also been involved in mentoring and publicizing the work of other artists in the community: she is a co-founder and former board member of West Medford Open Studios, now in its ninth year; for two years she wrote and produced a monthly Arts Page and Calendar section for the Medford Transcript; and she has been an invited speaker at Lesley University in Cambridge and to local artists’ groups, where she discussed examples of American women’s contributions to pottery, sculpture, clay work, glazing and china painting.
