![]() Leili Towfigh Bio She first studied ceramics in the 1980s with Jean Segaloff at the Commonwealth School in Boston. She then worked with Darrell Finnegan at the Student Art Association studios at MIT. Pieces were oxidation fired to cone 7-8 in an electric kiln. After a hiatus, in 2004, she started working with Rachel Tzamir and Michal Ye’or at Raku studios in Haifa, Israel. In Haifa, she had a chance to try raku and other new techniques. After five years abroad, she was excited to show her ceramic work in West Medford Open Studios for the first time last year alongside her favorite artist (her mother, Patricia Towfigh). It was a wonderful community ingathering to which so many diverse and enthusiastic neighbors came.
