Al Hiltz

Al Hiltz is a professional photographer with studios located at the Arlington Center for the Arts.  His “day job” is to provide portrait and wedding photography, photography of fine art, and Photoshop consulting services to clients throughout the greater Boston area.

When he is not doing that, he is pursuing his other passion, fine art photography.  His work has been exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography, DeCordova Museum, Concord Art Association, The Center for the Arts in Natick, and the Raimondi Gallery in Charlestown, as well as a number of other venues throughout the area.  His work has also received awards from the Newburyport Art Association, and the Arlington Center for the Arts, two venues at which he has also had solo shows.

About his work he says “If there is one theme that I try to convey in my photography, it is to try to look at the world with a childlike sense of wonder.  I try to see, and capture, the character of all things in life, whether it is the awesome beauty of a glacier surrounded by snow covered peaks, or the wisdom in the eyes of an old grandmother, or something as simple as raindrops making a pattern in a puddle, with the same level of excitement and enthusiasm”.

This year’s exhibit will feature new work from his night photography and abandon places series along with some of his old favorites.  To see more samples of his work visit www.ahiltzphoto.com.
