![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jennifer Hunter Biography Jennifer Hunter, 37, is doing her best to cram as much experience as possible into a finite lifespan. She is a contentedly single mother of an eight-year-old, a professional home organizer, a Jewish NeoPagan, a writer of books, stories, and articles, and is finally returning to her lost love of creating art, left behind in college. (Don’t ask your mother to help you choose your major.) A perennially struggling entrepreneur, she has begun devoting time to collage in a leap of faith that the universe will help you along when you follow your soul’s yearning. Her collages are made mostly from castoff magazine pictures and other recycled materials. She has exhibited in the Medford Arts Festival, Arlington Open Studios, and is “Anotherjen” on Etsy.com. She lives in West Medford, Massachusetts with her housemates, daughter, and a matching ginger cat and dog. Her professional organizing website is at www.jenniferhunter.com. Statement I am a lifelong amateur artist taking her first step into the world of showing and selling. I am endlessly fascinated with the world, especially the tiny details of it, and the way things intersect and interact. I think that most people sleepwalk through their lives, and I hope through my art to wake them up a little bit to where they are. I don’t like scary or disturbing art. I think there are enough unpleasant things in the world without hanging representations of them on our walls. Neither do I think art should exist just to be pretty. Art should feed the soul, give the viewer something she didn’t have before, inspire, excite. My collage is made almost entirely from recycled products: cardboard backing, and photos from magazines people give me, or I find in the recycling bins of my neighbors. Besides being environmentally friendly, this also gives me a limit and a structure, and turns the creation of art into a game: how can I work within these rules to make something amazing? Contact:
