![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alexandra Sulikowski There are two important colors that were always in the background of my life’s canvas: I wanted to help people by listening and building channels of communication, and I wanted to use art and creativity as a way of reaching out to others. As a child, I used to spend hours picking up leaves, stones, pinecones, nut shells, or sea shells and incorporated their beautiful forms in my everyday life. Alongside my career as an English teacher, I was constantly drawn to the different expressions of art: embroidery, sewing, wood carving, knitting, interior decoration, and jewelry making. Growing up in Argentina, I fondly remember as a young girl first experimenting with the craft of jewelry making with my father. Little had I known that this would become my passion later in life. Like in my early years, I can’t help but gravitate towards organic forms and natural elements: gemstones, pearls, coral, and some man-made beads that reflect an organic and rustic look, such as Murano glass (from Italy) or Czech Crystal and Swarovski Crystal. All these elements in communion with antiqued copper, brass, Sterling Silver and other metals give my work its distinctive design. It is my wish to communicate through my pieces the beauty that Nature gives us, and, as in every form of communication, the dialogue is not complete until it finds the right person to wear it.
