Biography

Do Well Design was founded in 1998 by Donna Rockwell and specializes in the production of graphics for both print and web, illustration in a variety of media, and original works of art.

After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 1993 with a degree illustration, Donna Rockwell worked in publishing before forming Do Well Design.   After teaching high school art for a short time, she continued her teaching career at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, while also working in a variety of fields producing graphic design and illustration.  Recently, Donna has returned to her painting roots, and begun to produce fine art.

Statement

The subject of my work focuses on the natural beauty found in the basic presentation of simple foods and containers.  I draw inspiration for the still life from the raw ingredients found in common, everyday recipes, presenting them in a straightforward arrangement.  In my artwork, I have attempted to capture the beauty, simplicity, and vibrancy of color found in nature, and explore the role of light in the still life setting.
