Jewelry: necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings
Biography
Originally from Albany NY, I now live in Brookine
with my husband near our two sons and four grandchildren. I developed
an interest in stringing beaded jewelry in 2004 and the hobby took off
as friends purchased my creations. I am an internist and practice college
health in two Boston institutions.
Artist Statement
I started to try my hand at making jewelry about 6 years ago through
a collection of beads and stones loaned to me by my sister. Soon
afterwards my appreciation evolved to include the almost-endless
range of colors and textures of natural stones, pearls and man-made
crystals and Czech glass. Then I started combining these elements
with metals including Sterling, Bali or Hill Tribe silver often surprising
myself with the outcome! My jewelry is straightforward, almost-classic
- with a "twist" -
a fresh interpretation that respects both the materials and the prospective
wearer. My goal is to create affordable and personal pieces for all
generations to wear and enjoy from daily-casual to special occasions.
It gives me a sense of enjoyment that I look forward to sharing at
the upcoming show.
